World’s Most Expensive Car – A One Off 1934 Rolls-Royce
This Rolls-Royce Phantom II ‘Star of India’ dating back to 1934 is set to become the world’s most expensive car when it goes under the hammer next month.
The car is part of famed Rolls-Royce collector Hans-Gunther Zach’s private collection and is expected to fetch £8.5 million.
When sold the Phantom II 40/50 HP Continental “All-Weather Convertible” is expected to eclipse the sale of a 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa that sold at auction in May for £7.2 million.
The car was originally built for the Maharaja of Rajkot in India and now Zach is selling his spectacular Rolls-Royce collection that includes 23 other Rolls-Royces, 3 Bentleys and 50 pieces of antique furniture.
